The RoleYou will manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to prepare tasty meals for approximately 90 people in residential care and independent living units.
Iona also has a contract to provide meals for Oamaru Public Hospital and local Meals on Wheels.
In this role, you will manage all aspects of the kitchen and service including budgeting, planning, ordering, preparing, cooking, and serving meals.
This is a client-driven role, where you enjoy serving wholesome home cooking and baking.
Hours: This is a full-time permanent position; 40 hours per week.
About You A food handling qualification - unit standard 167 and 168 (or equivalent) and any other relevant qualification, e.g.
Chef or Cook Experience in leadership and /or management.
Experience in cooking in bulk catering and baking skills preferably in a commercial kitchen.
Good organizational skills Reliable, efficient, and hardworking Show initiative and flair with cooking Demonstrating good time management skills and being able to prioritise effectively Being able to work under pressure and manage the physical demands of the position.
