This role is based in Whakatane, with the opportunity to make a significant difference to the health and well-being of the Eastern Bay of Plenty community.Key responsibilities:Provide individualised dietetic advice for those with prediabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, COPD, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure alongside other general healthy eating topics including vegetarian and vegan diets, disordered eating and body image concerns using a non-diet approach and children with selective eating patterns.Facilitate group education sessions for management for prediabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure.Facilitate group education sessions and attend Hauora days with local community groups as needed.Constantly seek new initiatives to improve outcomes for Maori.About you:Our preferred candidate will have the following attributes:Be an NZ Registered Dietitian.Experience and relevant qualifications for maternal and child dietetics would be an asset.A desire to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of the community and advocate for the role of dietitians in primary healthcare.A team player with a caring and compassionate nature.Excellent communication and time-management skills.About us:The Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance provides support in the primary care space across the entire sunny Eastern Bay of Plenty; from Kawerau to Te Kaha and everywhere in between.
