Financial Modeller / Senior Financial Modeller at NZ Commerce Commission, Wellington or AucklandMo te turanga | About the role We are seeking a Financial Modeller and a Senior Financial Modeller for our Performance and Understanding team.
We have a 12-month fixed-term and a permanent position available.
Both roles can be based in our either Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial modelling to support the regulation of infrastructure, as well as provide robust advice on the financial position of our regulated businesses.
You will make cost of capital determinations and monitor the financial position of regulated businesses.
You may also be involved in other work across the Commission.
The indicative salary range for the Financial Modeller is $96,722 – $113,790 and the Senior Financial Modeller is $122,320 – 143,905 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.
The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.
If you have the following skills and attributes, you could make a great Financial Modeller or Senior Financial Modeller:
tertiary qualification in an analytical field (eg, economics or accounting)experience in financial modelling including profitability assessments, cashflow analysis and, ideally, WACC determinationsthe ability to use different information and data sources to draw insights and conclusionsproven experience of managing projects or parts of them, and track record of deliveringan in-built drive to get things done, seek out opportunities for improving existing modelling, and successfully manage prioritiesan understanding of economic regulation and/or experience in electricity, gas, fuel, telecommunications, or government regulation (preferable, but not essential)some familiarity with programming languages (eg, R, Python, SQL) or a keenness to learn would also be a bonusKa pehea te tono mai | How to apply If you want to contribute to our vision to make New Zealanders better off, please click 'Apply for this job' below.
