Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Financial Director to lead our financial operations, align our business strategies with financial goals, and ensure long-term profitability and sustainability. The Financial Director will play a key role in optimizing financial performance across all areas of the business, including project costing, supplier contracts, inventory management, and resource allocation, ensuring smooth operations within our steel fabrication and construction services.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's business objectives, supporting both operational growth and long-term sustainability.
Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring that financial plans are aligned with project pipelines and business goals.
Provide financial analysis and advice on new business opportunities, including project viability assessments, expansion plans, and capital investment needs.
Ensure cash flow management aligns with ongoing project timelines, material procurement, and labor costs, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget variance analysis.
Ensure all financial operations comply with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.
Coordinate external audits and ensure accurate and timely submissions of tax filings, statutory reports, and financial disclosures.
Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Project Cost Management & Budgeting:
Manage project-based financial performance, working closely with project managers to monitor costs and identify opportunities to optimize pricing, material purchasing, and labor allocation.
Ensure proper tracking of direct and indirect project costs, analyzing profitability by project and identifying areas for cost-saving measures.
Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of raw materials (e.g., steel) and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the construction and fabrication process, such as fluctuations in material prices, project delays, or unexpected cost overruns.
Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity across all operations.
Monitor and manage liabilities, including debt and interest obligations, ensuring that funding for new projects and capital investments is secured at favorable terms.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.
Work collaboratively with other department heads, including the warehouse manager, to ensure optimal inventory management and cost control for raw materials.
Provide training and support for financial staff, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet day-to-day operational requirements and capital expenditure needs.
Optimize working capital by ensuring timely collection of receivables, managing supplier payment terms, and maintaining efficient inventory turnover.
Business Strategy & Leadership:
Act as a key advisor to the CEO and management team, contributing to decision-making on business growth, project expansion, and investment initiatives.
Participate in long-term strategic planning, aligning financial goals with company expansion, potential partnerships, and market growth in the steel fabrication and construction sectors.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to profitability, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability, and recommend improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior financial role, ideally within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, cost control, project accounting, and financial analysis.
Strong understanding of supply chain finance, inventory management, and procurement processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, as well as advanced Excel skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, particularly in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
