To learn more about our people and organisational structure, check out the Role: The Finance Team is responsible for the overall financial management and support processes within Airways, including transaction accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger support to business units, financial IT systems, procurement, property management, capital planning, statutory reporting and management reporting.
Reporting into the CFO, the Financial Controller is an integral leader for the business, responsible for the management of the wider finance function, ensuring all stakeholder requirements are met and also driving efficiency and improvement across finance systems and processes.
The role will act as the 2IC to the CFO as and when required.
Key Focus Areas: Leadership: Provide direction, empower, motivate and develop others in order to achieve business unit, group and organisational goals.
Business Planning & Budgeting: Manage and facilitate the development of group business plan and statement of corporate intent as well as manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts and reporting processes.
Pricing & Reporting: Provide the framework for the 3 year Pricing strategy and implementation.
Ensure Board and ELT documents are prepared with respect to Pricing.
Financial Accounting: Ensure the integrity of the financial management information system through development of efficient and accurate business processes and a robust control environment.
Treasury Management: Ensure all treasury and cash management activities are delivered accurately and efficiently per Airways' Treasury policy.
Payroll Management: Provide oversight and guidance to the payroll team, delivering high quality and accurate services which are best-in-class from a cost and quality standpoint.
Customer Management: Provide the Board and Audit and Finance Committee with support and advice to satisfy their statutory reporting and other financial obligations.
About You: To be successful in the role, you will have: Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce/Accountancy and significant (e.g.
7-10+ years) experience in a financial management or management accountant role.
Member of NZICA (CA) or equivalent.
Experience in working in a complex financial environment, preferably in an SOE or commercial environment.
At least five years of people management experience, leading and developing teams.
Proven experience in providing impact analysis for new initiatives and changes to existing programmes/projects from a business plan and/or price plan perspective.
Experience in reporting to Executive level management, and building and maintaining relationships across teams.
Ability to lead, empower, mentor, motivate and work well with the team.
Ability to work in a dynamic business environment, influence and collaborate with people internally and externally, show resilience and agility, take ownership and focus on delivering successful business outcomes.
