Our team does more than identify problems—we provide solutions.Position OverviewEHS Support is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Financial Accountant with prior experience in a consulting or project-based firm to join our dynamic team. The Financial Accountant will assist in overseeing transactional accounting processes, ensuring a timely and accurate month-end close, and ensure adherence to internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals across multiple service areas and multiple countries.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze financial metrics in accordance with US GAAP.Ensure all financial transactions are appropriately recorded in the general ledger in a timely manner.Investigate and correct technical accounting disparities.Prepare journal entries and monthly general ledger account reconciliations and perform detailed analysis on general ledger accounts.Assist in generating year-end information for annual tax return and compiled statement preparation by outside accounting firm.Assist in preparation of information for outside audit requirements where necessary.Ensure timeliness and accuracy of variance analysis statements.Take ownership of the calculation and processing of GST filings globally.Oversee the posting and maintenance of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash disbursements.Responsible for foreign and domestic bank reconciliation functions.Oversee proper disposition of intercompany multi-currency activities.QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project-based accounting in a consulting or similar environment.Ability to problem solve and think outside the box to develop solutions in a dynamic environment.Solid understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel and accounting systems/applications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels and work cohesively with team members and internal stakeholders.Possess good judgment, organizational, time management, and leadership skills.A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to process information quickly.Ability to maintain discretion while handling confidential materials.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.EducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Audit or Finance.Highly Qualified CandidatesExperience with ERP systems, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.Experience in multi-company environments.
