You'll make a positive impact on our future while enjoying a rewarding career full of opportunities - Christchurch City Council, where it's possible to love what you do.We are seeking someone to be part of the team that delivers our Council and consolidated Group annual report.About the role | Ko te mahi neiReporting to and working closely with the Financial Team leader Finance, you'll be actively involved in the preparation of our Annual Report, whilst also providing accounting and tax advice to the wider team and ensuring internal financial control measures are maintained.You are responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy across all financial transactions including ensuring statutory returns are completed accurately and to deadline, completion of annual financial statements and notes to the accounts, completing audit files and liaising with the external auditors during our year-end audit.As we work and support our wider council controlled organisations, strong relationship management skills will be essential.
You'll have a genuine love for numbers and be able to interpret accounting standards whilst thinking about the technical financial issues that go along with the operation of a large organisation.About you | Ko Koe TeneiIn return, we're looking for professional discipline, a strong work ethic, a thirst for knowledge in your field, and the desire to build strong and trusting relationships across the organisation.
You'll be a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or an equivalent professional body.
Your practical experience as a financial or company accountant will ensure you are comfortable in a complex environment and will have broad experience in maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
