We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in our Auckland HQ in East Tamaki. This is a full-time permanent opportunity in an exciting global FMCG that produces delicious coffee and teas. Your goal in this diverse role is to achieve excellent financial accounting and reporting standards within JDE NZ. You will report to our Financial Control Manager NZ. Are you up for this challenge?
In this role, you will:
Support periodic and year-end reporting consisting of monthly reporting, monthly journals, GL balance sheet reconciliations, stock in transit, capital expenditure processes, fixed assets, internal controls, lease accounting and intercompany recharging, invoicing and reconciliation.
Assist with annual statutory accounts and internal and external audits.
Assist in the preparation and completion of our Annual Operating Plan.
Prepare tax (GST) returns, liaise with IRD on tax issues and assist with the annual income tax return.
Prepare intercompany settlements and BMG accounting.
Drive continuous improvement within the reporting processes and systems and investigate opportunities to use BI.
Qualifications What are we looking for?
CA qualification or working towards a CA qualification with various years of full-time accounting work experience in New Zealand.
Valid and unrestricted NZ work rights.
Experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
Ideally experience within a global company, working with international stakeholders.
Experience with fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, budgeting & forecasting, and lease accounting (IFRS16) strongly preferred.
You have a proactive attitude and will investigate and reach out to stakeholders to find answers.
You are detail and process oriented and double-check your work to ensure it's accurate.
You are driven and open to occasional overtime work to meet reporting demands.
