Our Finance department works across the organisation to ensure the smooth running of DCC finances with the rates team dedicated to the processing and collection of DCC rates. The opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance administrator to join the Rates team on a fixed term (12 month) basis. This role is part of the multi-skilled team working with other Council Departments to ensure rates accounts are sent out correctly and on time. This role provides a vital function in the Council's financial systems all while ensuring excellent customer service. Some responsibilities of this position include: Updating and maintaining rates database Identify errors in information received, research and solve problems to correct Provide impartial recommendations for penalty remissions and adjustments Process Rate Rebate applications and liaise with Department of Internal Affairs on matters relating to Rates Rebates Ideally you will: Have great questioning and listening skills to make accurate decisions Have attention to detail that is second to none with quick and accurate administration skills Be a great communicator, reliable and positive, with a team-first attitude Have previous customer service experience Have proven experience using different technology and systems and can learn new processes quickly You can apply your skills to solve sometimes complex problems What we offer: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary range: $55,829 - $65,681 Supportive team environment Additional superannuation Secondment and promotion opportunities Five weeks annual leave, additional paid parental leave, wellbeing support Support our ambitious carbon zero goals The DCC is committed to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our work serving the citizens of Dunedin will reflect this.
