Finance Manager - Part Time 0.50 FTE, 18 Months fixed term.Selwyn House School is an independent girls' school centrally located in Merivale. We specialise in future-focused education and development of girls in their formative years (years 1–8) and operate a co-educational Pre-school.Our Director of Finance & Operations is seconded for 18 months (with the possibility of extension) to assist in our capital development programme. As such, we are now seeking an experienced Accountant to manage our Finance office and support the Director of Finance & Operations.The Finance Manager key responsibilities are:Leading the budgeting process and delivering accurate long and short range forecasts.Prepare and present group financial reports to the Board and for Audit.Oversee financial administration, including accounting systems, payroll, procurement processes, and asset management.Ensure compliance with financial legislation.Nurture and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and business partners.You will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. There are no direct reports; however, you will work very closely with the Accounts Assistant.The successful candidate will have:A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required).Proven experience in a senior financial management role.Strong knowledge of financial legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Google Drive/Docs.High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and financial acumen.This is a part-time role of 18.5 hours per week with some flexibility available during school holidays.
