02 October 2024 Finance Manager (Maternity cover) About the Company Our client is a well-established mid-tier law firm with three offices across Auckland.
Known for its collaborative and inclusive culture, the firm places a strong emphasis on maintaining a supportive team environment.
The finance team is primarily based in the CBD, with occasional visits to other offices, but most activities will take place in the city.
About the Role This role is essential for leading a seven-member finance team, ensuring continuity during the holiday period through to January 2026.
As Interim Finance Manager, you'll provide financial leadership, support system upgrades, and manage key financial functions, ensuring smooth operations while taking a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a seven-member finance team, ensuring continuity during the New Year period.
Oversee financial operations, including monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Ensure smooth operation of billings systems and processes.
Assist the General Manager with board reports, financial summaries, and system upgrades.
Collaborate with partners and other departments to resolve financial queries and provide strategic insights.
So Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?
Proven leadership experience managing a finance team within professional services, ideally in legal or similar industries.
Strong working knowledge of financial systems, particularly Aderant or similar billing-focused software.
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and preparing monthly management reports.
Excellent people management skills, with experience leading teams through busy periods and system transitions.
Ability to handle competing demands with a practical, hands-on problem-solving approach.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across the organisation.
