We pride ourselves on our supportive and collaborative team culture and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is committed to delivering exceptional service to our communities.About the role:We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team based in Dunedin.As our Finance Manager, you will report to the General Manager - Operations and work closely with the CEO and wider leadership team. This is a pivotal role with ownership for the effectiveness and efficiency of all financial accounting systems, processes, and reporting.Your responsibilities include:Overseeing all aspects of finance for Sport Otago.Preparing accounts material for presentation to the Chief Executive, Audit and Risk Subcommittee, Board of Trustees, and Auditors.Generating monthly reports for the Board and ad hoc Managers.Preparing monthly and long-term cashflow projections for the organisation, as well as ad hoc scenario forecasts.Aligning the company with all Inland Revenue and Statutory Compliance requirements.Preparing wages and associated PAYE returns to meet Inland Revenue requirements, including GST returns.Managing the processing of creditor invoices, reconciliation of accounts, and payment of all creditors.Reviewing all providers of service to ensure economic viability and to identify future needs.Preparing financial information for all funding applications, service level agreements, and accountability reports for local authorities and funders.Maintaining key relationships with regional and national funders, coordinating funding applications, and providing accountability reports.As the successful candidate, you will have:A minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or finance.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.Exceptional communication skills.High level of competence and interest in technologies.Knowledge of financial statutory compliance standards.Experience in using accounting systems, which could include Xero, approval software, payroll software, and bill processing.Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.Culture is important to us, and we want to hire the right people to support our mahi.
