The Role and YouWe are looking for a Finance Manager (Kaiwhakahaere Putea) to lead and manage our financial services team. This role is key to ensuring the effective delivery of financial services across the organisation and driving strategic financial management to support our kaupapa and aspirations.
This is a fast-paced role combining leadership, light accounting duties and data entry. Your leadership and financial acumen will contribute to a high-performing team and foster trust with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership: Build and maintain a cohesive Financial Services team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centric service.Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making. Ensure compliance with all legislative, audit, and organisational requirements.Reporting: Provide accurate, timely financial reports and advice to the Board, management, and external stakeholders.Accounts & Payroll: Administer and manage the accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions to ensure smooth operations.Compliance: Maintain company compliance, manage audits, and liaise with external accountants.Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with internal teams, runaka representatives, funders, and other key stakeholders.About YouQualifications & Experience:A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance role.Proven leadership experience in finance within the public or private sector.Strong knowledge of finance policies, principles, and systems (e.g. Xero, HubDoc, WorkGuru)Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to manage relationships across all levels.Strong planning, time management, and critical thinking skills.Proficiency in financial and analytical reporting.Cultural Competence:Bicultural confidence and a strong understanding of tikanga Maori.A commitment to supporting the aspirations of iwi Maori.Competence in or willingness to develop skills in Te Reo Maori.What We Can Offer YouAukaha is guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi in committing to bicultural responsiveness, equal employment opportunities and workforce development.
