We are on the lookout for a Finance Manager to join our growing, successful team. Patersons is a well-trusted brand across the South Island, delivering quality land development services to our network of amazing clients.
This is a senior leadership position and plays a pivotal role in budgeting, financial management, fiscal analysis, and forecasting. In this role, you will report to and work closely with the CEO to deliver on operational goals and shape the financial strategy of the business.
Key responsibilities:
Responsibility for full finance function, including cash management, reporting, debt management, budgeting, forecasting, banking, and payroll.
1 x full-time direct report.
Playing a key role in finance strategy and operational planning.
Financial analysis to monitor trends, provide insights, and guide strategy.
Advisory support to regional offices to understand data and improve performance.
Assessing opportunities and presenting proposals to the CEO.
Collaboratively setting financial goals and tracking progress through clear, meaningful reporting.
Provide financial leadership and support across other functions of the business.
Identify and proactively manage financial risks through robust fiscal analysis, statutory reporting obligations, and best practices.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
A tertiary qualification in either Finance, Accounting, or a similar business discipline.
7+ years' experience in finance.
Ideally, 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role.
Excellent Microsoft Excel and Xero skills.
Experience with project management software.
Experience in a professional services consultancy business is an advantage.
Proven leadership and management abilities.
A practical thinker who can problem-solve solutions to challenges.
