Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the wider business, this is a key role within a close-knit team where you will demonstrate strong abilities to work across both transactional and financial accounting processes.
You will be involved in all aspects of the business, providing certainty around the numbers for everything from inventory and stock management to projects.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the variety of being part of an established, trusted, and well-respected business, working as part of a tight-knit team with a history of strong staff retention.
The Company

The Role

Managing the accounts payable and receivable closing processes and assisting with processing when required
Supporting month-end accounting processes
Supporting the Accountant with the development and monitoring of forecasts and budget vs actuals
GST, PAYE, and FBT returns
Continuously reviewing systems, processes, and procedures to ensure effective controls are in place
Your Profile

Experience as an assistant accountant within a commercial environment, or perhaps moving from a practice environment and looking for your first commercial role
Happy to work across a range of tasks, some of which are administrative at times
Enjoy working in a tight-knit team that values a positive work environment and has a healthy sense of humour
Hold full, unrestricted working rights for New Zealand
