We are seeking a one year fixed-term experienced Finance Manager to join our Asian Family Services team in Auckland. You can choose your hours to be between 20-40 per week!

Asian Family Services (AFS) has been providing support to our Asian communities in New Zealand since 1998. We are a charitable trust and New Zealand's only service provider for people of Asian backgrounds affected by mental health issues and gambling harm. Our service operates in many areas: the Asian Helpline, clinical interventions, public health work, Asian Wellbeing Services, COVID-19 related counselling services, research work, and more!
About the role
The successful candidate will:
Oversee AFS's level of financial and business growth;
Support the Chief Executive with clear and strategic financial advice;
Provide accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making;
Optimise financial performance and mitigate risks;
Oversee AFS's overall finance and accounting functions;
Provide financial and accounting services to PGF services and other organisations as required;
Oversee the back-office support functions to support AFS's growth;
Oversee AFS's legal and financial compliance including compliance with employment relations legislation and financial management standards;
Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial stakeholders.
About you
Graduate or equivalent qualifications from New Zealand recognised tertiary institution in Accounting, Business and/or related disciplines;
Minimum 5 years' experience in finance;
Proven experience in property management;
Good knowledge of current financial management processes and standards;
Expertise in using Xero;
Expertise in analysing monthly finance reports and presenting factual information to Board on trends and outcomes;
Experience in liaising with banking representatives;
Experienced in assessing needs and sourcing appropriate accommodation;
Skilled negotiator and ability to assess risk and opportunity;
Skilled with managing complex relationships;
Ability to engage effectively with property companies, legal representatives and in managing the purchase and disposal of motor vehicles;
High level of competency with Microsoft 365 programmes.
