This family-owned private company has been established for over 30 years. They are an importer and distributor of quality volume and capital equipment to one of Australasia's biggest industries (which is pretty resilient in the current climate).
Over recent years they have grown significantly, including multiple acquisitions, 60% of their revenue now comes from Australia, although NZ will continue to be the base.
About the Role.
This newly created position is crucial to the finance team's operations, offering the opportunity to shape the finance function across both New Zealand and Australia.
The role promises a significant impact on business planning, budgeting, processes and compliance, offering exposure to senior leadership and the potential to shape the future of the finance function.
The main focus of the role is to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function over time and take pressure off the HO FInance so he can focus on the bigger picture.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of management accounts and reporting.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Lead the budgeting process and monitor financial performance.
Manage tax, compliance, and internal controls across both regions.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team (3 people)
Big focus on continuous improvement and an opportunity to be involved in a new system implementation.
So Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?
You will be a qualified accountant who has worked as a senior accountant or finance manager previously. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and a natural ability to coach and mentor junior staff.
Experience in an import and distribution business is a nice to have but not a pre-requisite.
