The Role In this role, you will provide day-to-day accounting support and be a Subject Matter Expert for the Finance module of the Workday ERP system. You'll drive the development and enhancement of financial systems and processes at GNS to protect the integrity of financial data and promote effective data management across the Finance team.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Provide day-to-day operational accounting support, including credit card administration, external data requests such as Statistics NZ surveys, and supporting insurance renewals and claims. Maintain the Workday Finance module, such as the business rules, Chart of Accounts and Delegated Financial Authorities. Provide first level support to users of the Workday finance module; escalating tickets to the external support partner as needed. Review Workday release notes, identify new features and execute test plans that are right sized for the changes. Maintain the Finance content published on the GNS intranet. Support the delivery of relevant training and 'how to' guides, lifting awareness, understanding and general financial acumen across the business. About You You are a proactive, curious and skilled finance professional with strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for systems and process improvement. You enjoy collaborating across departments and possess a strong eye for detail to ensure compliance and operational excellence. You have experience as a financial system subject matter expert and can confidently handle large data sets. You are an effective communicator with an excellent ability to write problem statements that articulate the core issue, clearly and concisely. You distil technical concepts into simple and easy to understand language.

This is a permanent, full time (38 hours per week) role and is based at our campus in Avalon, Lower Hutt.
The salary range for this position is between $87,975 to $97,750 depending on the successful candidate's experience.
