The Opportunity
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join a leading business working alongside the Divisional Leadership Team in the breathtaking Wairarapa region. This exceptional opportunity is ideal for an individual eager to enhance their expertise in a fully integrated finance role while developing your partnering and analytical skills.
In this newly created position, you will collaborate closely with division leaders to deliver insights and analytics that will shape the future of these business entities. Reporting directly to the CFO, and working in tandem with the General Manager and other business leaders to drive performance across ten of the company's entities. Your contributions will be instrumental in steering strategic initiatives and optimizing financial outcomes, making this a rewarding role for those looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
About the Role
This role encompasses 3 main components: core finance, commercial performance, and business partnering. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Partnering with the management team to provide best practice, market insights and trends, revenue analysis to drive financial performance
Reviewing contracts to ensure business performance, profitability, and adherence to deliverables
Review and preparation of budgets and forecasting with individual managers
Preparation and reviewing of monthly financials for ten entities, including variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, etc.
Provide guidance to the management team by creating a narrative using the numbers to ensure profitability and growth
Own the end-to-end financial process for each business entity

It's ideal for a Management Accountant who not only excels in day-to-day operations but is also eager to immerse themselves into the business partnering and enhancement of the analytical reporting. Mentorship from the CFO and other experienced team members will be provided, whilst also allowing you the autonomy to make this role your own.
To be Successful
Ideally, a qualified member of a professional body such as CA or CPA
Experience working as a Management Accountant or FBP in a commercial, multi-entity business is preferable
Ambitious and forward-thinking – someone seeking growth in your abilities and taking the next step
Strong Excel skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking.
Experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI
The Shared Services for this business are based in Masterton, where this role will ideally be based. However, for the right candidate, there can be flexibility for you to be located within one of their offices throughout NZ (such as Wellington or Palmerston North). Given the nationwide scope of this role, travel to their various locations may be required.
