To learn more about our people and organisational structure, check out About the Team: The Finance Team is responsible for the overall financial management and support processes within Airways, including transaction accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger support to business units, financial IT systems, procurement, property management, capital planning, statutory reporting and management reporting.
About the Role: Newly created, 12-month fixed term opportunity to join our Christchurch (Burnside) based team.
Reporting into the Head of Financial Planning & Performance, the Finance Business Partner will manage allocated business units, through the development of automated reporting, processes, and project support, taking the lead on providing accurate and reliable financial analysis, financial planning, forecasting, and providing timely commercial and strategic advice.
Key Focus Areas: Business partnering - providing monthly analysis and reporting, including using the Financial System and reporting tools to drive business analytics and automation.
Forecasting business requirements and trends.
Leading the development of business unit and cost centre level budgets.
Preparing and reviewing the pricing aspects of the commercial opportunities, including working with subject matter experts.
Providing advice on strategic pricing and other aspects of commercial contracts.
Assisting with project forecasting and reporting.
Responding to ad hoc queries from business unit and cost centre managers.
Identifying and escalating issues as required.
Initial reviews of business investment cases (BIC), project closure reports and benefits realisation reports.
Building and maintaining relationships with the customers and provides suggestions on improvements that are effective and simple to use.
About You: To be successful in the role, you will have: Relevant tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Commerce / Accountancy.
4+ years' experience in an accounting role.
Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
Strong analytical and MS Excel skills, knowledge and understanding of accounting systems and processes for reporting purposes.
Experience in working in a complex financial environment, preferably in an SOE or commercial environment.
Ability to work in a dynamic business environment, influence and collaborate with people internally and externally, show resilience and agility, take ownership and focus on delivering successful business outcomes.
