Finance is responsible for setting the environment for effective financial management and ensuring the assets of Maritime NZ are safeguarded through an effective system of internal controls.What you'll do:Working closely with our Manager Revenue and Financial Planning, you will provide leadership and financial expertise to a portfolio of Senior Leaders and their Management teams. This will include producing monthly reporting and variance analysis to help ensure our Managers meet their financial responsibilities. You will provide expert advice, analysis and input into business case development including reviewing submissions which have a financial component or impact.Another key part of this role is assisting with the annual budget and forecasting planning, supporting the development of robust budget submissions to our Executive and the Authority. As a confident communicator, you will enjoy making connections across our organisation and within the wider finance team.What we're looking for:Relevant tertiary qualification preferably at post graduate level in Accounting/Finance;In-depth experience in a Management Accounting or Business partnering role;Chartered Accountant (or equivalent qualification recognised by CAANZ);Previous experience producing robust business cases;Positive and collaborative approach to the team and work environment;Previous experience working within a public sector organisation preferred;Experience developing and implementing business process improvements;Ability to produce results within tight timeframes;Ability to work in a culturally safe and respectful manner, always being mindful of the cultural diversity of the industry and having regard to Te Ao Maori and Treaty of Waitangi principles.Mou | For you:Maritime NZ recognises and respects te Tiriti o Waitangi and we are committed to working with Maori to build strong, meaningful and enduring relationships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
