Field Service Engineer / Technical Service Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a Field Service Engineer / Technical Service Technician to service the wider Christchurch region. This role is pivotal in ensuring all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and effectively. You will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and servicing of all equipment while adhering to rigorous health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine service and repair work on compressors and compressed air systems.
Manage jobs autonomously and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Identify and raise faults or warranty failures, ensuring accurate submissions to regional managers.
Identify parts required for replacement and communicate their part numbers to Planners for ordering
Provide comprehensive manual services for all breakdowns and non-routine tasks.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas and vehicles.
Report on equipment issues and contribute to evaluations.
Attend and actively participate in training sessions and toolbox meetings.
Ensure all warranty jobs are detailed and submitted accurately.
Work within corporate policies and procedures while demonstrating exemplary behavior.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of a 4-year trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Proven ability to work independently as a part of a widely spread team
Previous experience in a field service role
Previous experience with compressors is a strong advantage.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
High level of analytical skills and attention to detail.
Minimum of three years of mechanical or electrical diagnostic experience.
Clean, valid driver's license
Excellent customer service skills
Detail-oriented with high level analytical skills
Minimum 3 years of Mechanical and/or Electrical diagnosis experience
Good presentation & effective organisational and communication skills
Good computer literacy for time and service reporting
Ability to be on call and travel to site
