Te Ngahere is currently looking for passionate people interested in conservation to fulfill fixed-term positions (until 30 June 2024). This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in the delivery of field projects, pest plant and animal control and restoring parks and reserves throughout the Tamaki Makaurau region.
The ideal candidates will be highly motivated individuals with an interest in New Zealand's native environment and restoration services including pest plant and animal management and native planting.
Key responsibilities include:
Working within teams undertaking pest plant identification and control through herbicide application or manual control
Restoring areas through native restoration planting
Undertaking animal pest control to allow our native species to thrive
To be successful in this role ideally applicants will have:
A passion for the natural environment and its protection
Good level of fitness, ability to work in challenging and remote areas
Positive can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team
The ability to work away from home from time to time for a week at a time
The ability to work weekends when required
Full driving license (NZ class 1).
NZ Citizen or NZ Permanent Resident status or valid NZ work permit – must already be in New Zealand to apply.
