Farm Manager - Station and Sustainability Skip to content Take the reigns as the Farm Manager - Station and Sustainability for the prestigious Tuaropaki Trust in Taupo. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, and as part of the Operations team, you are partly responsible for managing, maintaining and operating all Tuaropaki controlled assets and resources in a safe and environmentally sustainable way. This role is vital to the success of the farm and its environment, and you will have the opportunity to operate with a high level of autonomy and build a legacy of excellence. Tuaropaki Trust was born from the unity of 279 Maori landowners in 1952. The original owners of the Tuaropaki whenua believed that they could achieve more by working together. They amalgamated their family lands under an overarching vision to develop the land to provide opportunities for our whanau. Today, Tuaropaki Trust is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua Maori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Whanau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners. The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at around $1 billion. The Trust also has investments in North America. The Farm Managers specific responsibilities are to drive excellence across: Operational Health, safety and environmental Provide leadership and mentoring to reports, fostering a collaborative, positive and innovative work environment. Ensure interactions with owners are credible, consistent and based on core Trust values. This role will cover: Business planning Staff management Production and stock management Financial and Asset management Natural resource and Nursery management What you'll need to be successful A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Stock/Farm Manager with some experience in sustainability or nursery oversight. Recognised industry qualification. Substantial experience in leading teams and station operations. Managing a budget and reports. Sound business acumen, with proven experience developing and delivering plans and processes that are aligned to organisational priorities, and driving change. A track record of making quality decisions within your area of responsibility. A proven ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, navigate issues and solve problems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and leverage relationships and partner with colleagues and others across the industry to achieve shared outcomes.
