As our last Manager is heading back home overseas, Clanmhor Ltd are seeking a new Farm Manager for our 700 cow dairy farm in Ashburton, Mid Canterbury. The 200ha farm has a 54 bale rotary with protrack, in shed feeding and automatic cup removers. With innovative Smaxtec Bolus technology, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to grow their knowledge and understanding in this area and maximise the technology to improve our key performance indicators.
The farm runs 3 full time staff (including manager) with extra during calving time. The farm is nearly fully pivot irrigated with a handful of rotorainer runs.
The supportive sharemilkers are seeking a Farm Manager who will treat this farm as their own and uphold its high standards. Over the past five years, the farm has been high producing by utilising pasture, while feeding small amounts of PKE, and silage. Therefore, strong skills in pasture and supplement management, along with excellent animal husbandry, are essential.
The successful applicant will: Have a minimum of 5 years dairy farming experience
Have excellent pasture management and feed planning knowledge
Be eager to get involved and lead the on farm technology
Excel in animal health and husbandry
Demonstrate a strong work ethic
Have excellent communication skills as well as leading and driving a team
Have a proven track record for tidiness and attention to detail and high standards
Ensure all aspects of health and safety are managed
Value the farm and maintain the property
