In less than ten years, Arkley Farm has grown from one farm, 2,600 sheep & 50 cattle run by Pete and Esther to three farms, a team of 6, 7,500 ewes, 2,200 hoggets, a well-reputed sheep stud, 300 cattle, and a high producing cropping operation.
The Farm Manager role is integral for Arkley Farm. In line with the business's ethos of progression and pathway, this opportunity will see you with direct responsibility for one farm, managing people in your immediate and wider team and overseeing the livestock and pasture performance across the business. To be successful in the Farm Manager role, you'll bring a number of great qualities, including:
Leadership experience with an understanding of how to get the best out of yourself and your team, knowing that communication and collaboration will be key to success.
Knowledge of farm systems, effective stock and pasture management, attention to detail when dealing with animal health, and the ability to fully utilize the resources and infrastructure available to you and your team.
Understanding the value of measuring, managing, collecting, and reporting the critical data that links to farm performance along with high attention to detail and competency in farm technology.
Experience in a similar role for 2-3 years with a team of dogs that will get the job done.
You will be supported by a wider team, the business owners, their knowledge, their guidance, and well-established systems and processes. Also, know that the opportunity doesn't finish here.
