The overriding mission of everyone who works at this organisation is a desire to improve holistic wellbeing and development to all.About The Role - Family Harm Support WorkerWe have a permanent position available within our Nga Tooka Haumaru Team. Nga Tooka Haumaru is about supporting the prevention and reduction of vulnerability and harm for individuals, families and communities.You will be supporting whanau to address historical, present or risk of family violence through education programmes e.g relationship & parenting, advocacy when accessing agencies, institutions and statutory agencies, and support in referrals to additional services.Position detailsMonday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm. Please note on occasions you may be required to work outside of these hours, depending on the support needs of whanaunga.Starting from $65,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience, aligned with pay equity).A day in the roleAssess individuals and families experiencing family harm to determine their needs and risks.Provide emotional support to survivors of family harm, helping them navigate the impacts of abuse and build resilience.Coordinate and manage whanaunga cases, ensuring that individuals receive appropriate services and resources.Provide immediate support and intervention for whanaunga in crisis situations.Work closely with other support workers, police, legal professionals, healthcare providers, and community organisations to provide comprehensive support.Maintain accurate and confidential whanaunga records, including assessments, safety plans, and case notes.We are seeking a Family Harm Support Worker whoPrides themself on their ability to work to a whanau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach.Experience working with survivors of family harm, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.Have evidence of being fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.Have a full drivers licence.Have proof of your right to work in New Zealand (One year minimum).BenefitsWork with a passionate, driven organisation and experienced leadership team.Contribute to urban Maori and Pasifika communities and support the holistic wellbeing of everyone seeking support.Continuous professional development and training opportunities available.Medical Insurance.Free parking.Monthly Supervision / Mentoring.If you believe you would enjoy working in a kaupapa Maori organisation, possess a strong work ethic, and envision your career pathway in supporting our whanaunga, then this is the perfect role for you!
