This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons, 100 courts, and 157 community correctional sites. This contract underpins the provision of availability of facilities to support a core Government service.
A bit about the role The primary role involves performing general handyperson and maintenance activities while leading the Facilities technical delivery team, including subcontractors. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing operations for both team and individual tasks, ensuring all work meets customer satisfaction and targets for productivity, quality, and safety.
The Team Leader is expected to be hands-on when necessary and act as the second-in-charge (2IC) to the Senior Property Manager, overseeing site operations during their absence. Additionally, this role includes participation in the on-call roster for after-hours duty phone escalations.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prioritize Zero Harm and ensure compliance with safety standards.Provide leadership and direction to Facilities Technicians, Trade Assistants, and apprentices, including managing subcontractors.Deliver services aligned with Downer Values and maintain strong customer relationships through positive interactions.Engage in hands-on work under the guidance of managers or coordinators while managing resources effectively.Assist in generating specifications and cost estimates for engineering and project solutions while adhering to risk management guidelines.Supervise and mentor junior plumbers, focusing on technical solutions in plumbing, gas systems, drainage, and related facilities assets.We're looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile!
