It's exciting and fast paced, where meeting the urgent requirements of our customers in a time critical way is key, and each day is different from the next.
Join our Express business as an operational Service Delivery Manager, based in Highbrook, Auckland.
Reporting through to the Auckland Branch Manager, you'll be responsible for leading our team of dispatchers and our third party agents.
Working closely with your counterparts in fleet and operations to ensure things go smoothly day to day, you'll oversee the daily activities, including managing our team of dispatchers (who work a variety of shifts) to ensure their success, including making sure they receive the right training and knowledge to do their jobs effectively.
You'll also be responsible for regular customer, fleet and financial reporting, so knowing your way around Excel will be key.
This team operates 24/7 and this role typically works Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm, however, this role would suit someone who is flexible to work a combination of early mornings and late afternoons as the role requires.
As an experienced people leader, you'll be used to coaching, guiding and mentoring a team to achieve consistent excellence.
You'll enjoy bringing people on the journey, seeing them thrive and be successful whilst not shying away from at times difficult conversations.
You'll combine this with:
The ability to influence and engage at a variety of levelsStrong customer service and relationship management skillsSolid commercial acumen, including budgets, financials and analytical skillsA pragmatic approachA healthy dose of common sense and logicSolid knowledge of Excel for reporting purposes, including comfort with pivot tables and look upsExperience in the transport or logistics would definitely help you hit the ground running in this role, but not essential provided you are willing and eager to learn.
