We are looking for five experienced Painters to join our business, Extrastaff Limited. Our growing business requires organised and trustworthy individuals who pride themselves on quality
workmanship. You must be motivated and result driven. You might be asked to work across the country to assist with our projects, so flexibility on work locations is preferred.
The Painter is responsible for:
Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc. Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster) Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools Apply varnish and other finishes Calculate costs and negotiate prices Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions All other duties as assigned. Skills and experience required:
3+ years of painting relevant experience OR relevant painting qualification is preferable, but not compulsory Friendly, with good time management, & excellent work ethic are essential Time management skills A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry Sound knowledge of H&S procedures Reliable and hardworking Pay conditions
Min $29.66 per hour to a maximum of $32 per hour
Hours of work
Minimum 30 hours of work is guaranteed
Location
You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
