Position Title: North Golf Executive OfficerDate: October 2024Subordinate Positions:Administration AssistantHours: 40 hours/week. This will include some out of hours and weekend work as required.Strategic SummaryThe EO is responsible for providing strategic leadership for North Golf by working with the Executive Board to establish long-term goals, strategies, plans, and policies to drive the success of golf in the region.Core Purpose: "Driving Golf in the North"North Golf has three key strategic objectives that guide how we strive to 'Empower Golf Clubs in the North Golf Region."Club CapabilityLeadership and Operational.HOW TO APPLYIf this sounds like the perfect role for you, we'd love to hear from you! Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining why you're the ideal candidate for the position to ****** by Wednesday 4 December 2024.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary PurposeTo engage with golf clubs and assist their capability where required so they can meet the needs of their members from grassroots level through to representative level.Key TasksAdministration and CommunicationBe the spokesperson and representative for North Golf in key external communicationsEnsure the association complies with all legislative, legal and statutory requirementsEnsure the accurate maintenance, secure documentation, and storage of all association recordsOversee and assist in developing the North Golf Communication channels including website, social media and EDMs.Planning and ReportingLead the development and execution of the strategic plan and ensure that all operations align with the organization's vision and long-term goalsProvide strategic oversight for the management and scheduling of the North Golf calendar, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication to clubs and stakeholdersLead the annual surveying of clubs and stakeholders to gather insights, analyze feedback, and implement actionable improvements that enhance overall engagement and participation.Event ManagementWork closely with key stakeholders to maximize exposure and participation in tournaments and eventsProvide strategic oversight and leadership for the planning, implementation, and management of all key North Golf tournaments and pennant competitions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering exceptional experiences for participants and stakeholdersLead the development and implementation of innovative tournaments and events that align with North Golf's strategic initiatives, enhancing participation and engagement within the community.Staff and Contractor ManagementDevelop a high-performing organizational culture that supports professional growth and maximizes team performanceEnsure management of North Golf staff and contractors, including performance appraisals are completed to ensure deadlines and targets are being met.Development and RepresentativeBuilding and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including clubs, regional councils, sponsors, and Golf NZ, to promote development and increase representationOversee the development and management of the association's coaching and development programmesOversee the management of the association's representative programme.FinanceDrive the financial sustainability of North Golf by implementing strategic budget planning, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying new revenue streamsDevelop and oversee the annual budget, ensuring adherence to financial procedures and compliance with all regulatory requirementsCultivate and expand sponsorship relationships to maximize commercial opportunities and enhance organizational visibilityLead the preparation and submission of grant funding applications, ensuring compliance obligations are met in a timely and accurate mannerCollaborate closely with the Executive Committee to identify and pursue funding, sponsorship, and investment opportunities that align with North Golf's strategic objectives.Executive Committee EngagementThe EO is responsible for keeping the Executive Committee informed of key developments and any issues that could affect the strategic direction of North GolfThe EO must regularly provide reporting to the Executive Committee on progress towards strategic objectives and operational challengesOther tasks as appropriate and directed by the Chairman.Skills and ExperienceLeadershipStrategic thinkingKPIs or Success MeasuresIncreased club participationSuccessful grant applicationsFinancial targets met.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as an Executive Officer?Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?
