That's how many New Zealanders will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetimes.
At the Southern Cancer Society, we're committed to making a meaningful impact in our communities through reducing the incidence and impact of cancer.
Our goals are ambitious, and our Chief Executive is at the forefront of delivering our vision, at both a local and national level.
As such, we're seeking an energetic, proactive and practical Executive Assistant to support her.
About the role Based from the Canterbury Cancer Centre in Papanui, you'll effectively and proactively manage all aspects of our Chief Executive's day, ensuring her time is focused on the activities that add the most value.
There's the usual day to day administrative support activities - diary management, booking travel, organising and supporting meetings and events, as well as liaising with internal and external stakeholders, preparing presentations and reports, and contributing to (and at times leading) specific projects and initiatives.
This is a permanent role of min 32 hours (flexible up to 40 hours), ideally spread across Monday to Friday.
We understand that life is busy, and flexibility is important.
We believe in work-life balance, trusting you to manage your time in a way that meets the needs of both your role and your whanau.
An immediate start would be ideal; however, we are flexible on this.
About you You'll be an experienced assistant who is technically savvy, builds great relationships and naturally takes ownership to see things through to completion, with experience writing reports and creating presentations for an executive audience.
Our Chief Executive is always on the go, so you'll need to be comfortable working with minimal direction, navigating ambiguity, and be adept at translating 'high-level' instructions into practical action.
And let's not forget to mention that she is a pretty cool person who genuinely understands that people are at the heart of everything we do here.
This is a fun, varied and meaningful role within an organisation that is rapidly evolving and determined to make a difference in the lives of people impacted by cancer.
