Our Exceptions Advisor role is responsible for managing and coordinating the process of assigned applications for funding of medicines within our assessment framework.
Recommendations for applications are subject to formal approval; however, our Exceptions Advisors conduct a thorough and robust process prior to this stage, including seeking, collating, and critically appraising a wide range of information for each application.
The role requires effective verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to write at a professional level for a management or Board level audience), the ability to assess and critically appraise information against criteria, and also to assess work and processes to identify business improvements.

The Exceptions Advisor role is autonomous in nature, while also requiring collaboration and information sharing.

Familiarity with medical terminology would be ideal, as the role requires the ability to deal with medical information and context.

Have a desire to learn about medicines, medical devices, vaccines, and the general health sector in New Zealand.
Able to manage, monitor and juggle multiple priorities from a queue of applications.
A strong communicator with excellent relationship management skills.

This role is Band 6, with a total range of $78,696 - $118,044 total remuneration.
The appointment range is anticipated to be between $88,512 - $99,860, total remuneration, inclusive of 3% KiwiSaver Employer contribution.
The appointment salary is subject to the preferred candidate's relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
