We are on the lookout for a new Events Manager to lead our Events Team.
We need someone who can lead from the front, with a knack for planning innovative and engaging experiences for our students at Te Whare Wananga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury (UC).
If you are equally as comfortable BBQing up some sausages as you are rubbing shoulders with international music artists, even better!
If you like the idea of supporting your team to think up new experiential ideas and find new ways to engage different groups, then this is a great opportunity to expand on your skill set across a wide variety of event types.
Seriously – check out our social media feed – our team delivers everything from a 3500 person Music Festival, Markets, Awards Ceremonies, Concerts, BBQs, Coffee Mornings and everything else in between.

About You You will be either an experienced people leader with relevant event experience.
What is important to us is that you are passionate about leading people and all aspects of events and the student experience.
You need to enjoy collaborating, be comfortable in a high-pace environment, be organised, and have excellent communication skills.
Due to the nature of the role and the organisation, an affinity for and understanding of students is important.
Important Skills & Qualifications A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g.
event management, marketing, tourism, hospitality, communications)5+ years industry experience in planning and delivering successful events2+ years industry experience in leading teams in a similar environmentHas a particular empathy, sensitivity and appreciation for students and the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, genders of the student body, staff and clientsA good understanding of what it means to work in a bi-culturally competent environment, or the openness to learn and grow in this spaceCurrent and full drivers' licenceA creative, enquiring mind and the ability to "think outside the box"Ability to work in a team and great sense of humourAbout UCSA Nau Mai Ki Te Ropu Akonga o Te Whare Wananga o Waitaha Welcome to The University of Canterbury Students' Association (UCSA) Established in 1894, the UCSA is a registered not-for-profit organisation that supports UC students to succeed and belong.
Our organisation is governed by an elected Student Executive, and we employ over 300 staff.
Together, we dish up a range of student-focused services, including: advocacy and welfare, representation, subsidised dental and optometry, early learning centres, club support, events, and media.
