Job Summary: The Events and Grounds Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property and grounds maintenance, ensuring they are in pristine condition, and executing various events, with a primary focus on claybird shooting events and overall property management. This role requires a blend of event coordination expertise, knowledge of claybird shooting, and strong management skills to provide guests with a seamless experience while maintaining the grounds to the highest standards.Position: Event and Grounds ManagerDuration: Now until the end of March, with the potential to extendHours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, with a schedule dependent on event bookings. Shifts may include late nights and weekends.Remuneration: Competitive, to be discussed.Key Responsibilities:Event Coordination:Execute a variety of events, including corporate outings, weddings, and private functions centered around activities such as claybird shooting, axe throwing, archery, and more.Manage event logistics before, during, and after each event, including food service, staffing, and activities coordination.Claybird Shooting Management:Oversee all aspects of the claybird shooting program, including range setup, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.Provide training and support to participants on shooting techniques and safety measures.Property Management:Maintain and enhance the physical condition of the grounds, including shooting ranges, event spaces, and common areas.Adhere to the maintenance schedule for landscaping, equipment, and facilities.Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and improvements as needed.Customer Service:Act as the primary point of contact for clients during events.Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure client satisfaction.Compliance and Safety:Ensure all events comply with local regulations and safety standards.Implement and uphold best practices for health and safety on the grounds.Qualifications:Previous hospitality front-of-house experience in event operations or similar roles.A current New Zealand firearms license (or a willingness to undergo training if needed).Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.A valid full driver's license and reliable transportation.Professional personal presentation and keen attention to detail.Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, late nights, and weekends.Ability to effectively engage with a wide range of people.Proven leadership and team management skills.Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.A proactive attitude and creative problem-solving skills.Desirable (but not essential):Current LCQ/Manager's Certificate.Current First Aid Certificate.As a cherished family-owned establishment, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and fun-loving team environment.
