The Tannery/ Cassels Brewery is looking for an Event Manager to join the team for the busy season ahead.
The Tannery/ Cassels hosts a variety of events all year round in our various event spaces.
Weddings, birthdays, celebrations, corporate events, gala dinners and much more… no day is the same here.
If you are looking for a fun and exciting change in pace creating memorable events for our guests then this role is for you.
The role of event manager consists of but is not limited to: Event Delivery (main component) You will be responsible for the delivery of the event - following an event order as prepared by the sales manager and client.
Prepare staff run sheets before each event.
Event set up and pack down including occasional event styling.
Manage each event and ensure the team are performing duties that deliver a high customer experience.
Place orders for beverages, sundry items and equipment.
Report and debrief after each event.
Other responsibilities Manage cleaning contractors for pre and post event requirements.
Monthly rostering in line with budgets.
Monthly stocktake.
Ensure relationships with all Tannery shareholders are professional, friendly and give no cause for concern.
Ensure all venues are kept in a clean well-maintained standard at all times.
Stocktake event equipment - ensure events have adequate equipment ahead of schedule.
Ensure venues and equipment are kept safe and secure at all times.
Create regular content (photo and video) for marketing purposes.
Maintain open communication with kitchen and sales manager/s.
Ensure all health & safety standards are maintained in the workplace to prevent workplace injuries.
Ensure team is fully engaged, trained to a high standard and most of all enjoying being part of the Tannery/Cassels Team.
Recruitment of new casual staff as and when required.
You will build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
Ensure building maintenance is managed.
Assistance to the sales manager completing sales work with quoting and inquiries (generally in the quieter months).
About you To be a successful applicant for this role you will be calm and collected with a positive attitude.
You will rise to a challenge with professionalism and maturity and go above and beyond for each event.
Your customer care will be at the forefront and you will have a high expectation of event delivery with an exceptional eye for detail.
You will have at least 5 years of experience working in either restaurant, bar or event management (or similar).
Previous experience managing staff (casuals).
Experience writing rosters with sound wage cost understanding.
You must be physically fit and able to move furniture and equipment with ease.
Basic tech knowledge.
Ability to work autonomously.
Must be able to troubleshoot and adapt to changes easily.
Due to the nature of the event industry, the role requires flexibility.
The hours for the role will be on flexi time with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
You must be willing and able to commit to days, weekend and evening work.
You will be offered flexibility in return and will have the opportunity to take long weekends and schedule blocks of time off when there are gaps in the events calendar.
The role reports directly to the sales and events manager.
The hourly rate will be discussed at the interview process.
