We are seeking an experienced Estimator/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Chenery in Auckland CBD, Auckland. This is a full-time role, where you will be responsible for providing expert cost estimating and quantity surveying services to support our construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success and viability of our projects.What you'll be doingPreparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projectsPerforming quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and plansAnalysing and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotationsTracking and reporting on project costs and budget variancesPreparing tender documentation and supporting the tendering processCollaborating with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to provide cost advice and recommendationsIdentifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsWhat we're looking forDegree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar Estimator or Senior Quantity Surveyor roleExcellent understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost driversStrong proficiency in construction estimating software and MS Office applications; Simpro knowledge would be useful but not essential.Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholdersFamiliarity with the local construction industry and regulatory requirementsWhat we offerCompetitive salary and company vehicleOpportunities for career development and ongoing trainingFlexible work arrangements and a supportive work-life balanceA positive, collaborative, and inclusive company cultureAbout usChenery is a leading plumbing company with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across the Auckland region.
