Asset Engineering are looking for an Intermediate level Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join the team. Asset Engineering is a general engineering company covering a large variety of engineering in the industry:
Structural steel & earthquake strengthening
Metalwork - handrails, balustrades, platforms, screens, louvres
Mechanical maintenance Design & engineering
The Role:
This role involves working closely with our Director & CAD designer to provide not only pricing of tenders but looking for cost effective solutions/alternatives to help our customers get the best product for a competitive price. Pricing & assisting in pricing all of the areas mentioned above. The candidate will always have support in pricing the large variety of work mentioned above with a management team that all have great engineering experience able to give thoughts, suggestions & feedback.
Key aspects of the role include:
Interpreting/understanding construction & engineering shop drawings
Interpreting/understanding engineering specifications
Progressing claims and variations with support from Project Managers
Strong relationship building skills with the ability to maintain existing relationships with customers & also bring on new customers
Reviewing & implementing new pricing systems & templates
To be successful for this role:
Effective communication skills
Minimum 3 years experience in quantity surveying in the Construction industry - Not essential to have experience in the engineering industry but capable knowledge of understanding drawings & a keen to learn attitude
Ability to work under pressure
Having great self-management & time management skills
Personable & have a positive attitude
