We have an opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join the Fulton Hogan team in the Canterbury region. In this role, you'll be responsible for producing consistent and accurate cost estimates for tenders, coordinating tender invites and adjudication in a timely fashion as part of the bid management process. You will prepare and populate schedules of quantities, provide estimating guidance to staff allocated to the tender/bid process, and lead supplier negotiations.
Responsibilities
Assist with pricing inputs in accordance with the tender plan created for each project
Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs
Set-up tenders using CCS (Candy) computer-based estimating and cost control software
Participate in post-tender negotiations and provide supporting analysis and management of identified risks
Utilise operational understanding to problem-solve whilst providing "best value" tender responses
Identify potential commercial advantages, opportunities, and problems in the tendering process and communicate findings with relevant stakeholders

Qualifications
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge
Expertise in electronic tendering systems CCS Candy, Cost X, or similar - Candy experience is desirable but training will be provided
Significant previous estimating experience ideally in roading and contracting (minimum 5 years)
Experience in or knowledge of the roading and contracting project management industry and New Zealand marketplace
