Details of the offer

Welcome to G.J Gardner Homes - New Zealand's most trusted home builder.
We are looking for an exceptional individual, yes of course to be good with numbers but really to bring their drive, intellect and energy to join our awesome Franklin team based in Pukekohe.
We are a progressive, passionate and close-knit team, proud of delivering quality homes to all New Zealanders.
You'll enjoy the benefits of a culture led business where our people are our priority.
What's involved in the role: We are seeking an experienced (5-10 years+) Estimator or Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in estimating, pricing and ordering within the residential building industry and a proven track record of managing complex projects with accuracy and efficiency.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role will see you lead an existing estimator working closely with the new home consultants and architectural drafting team to price homes and send accurate orders to suppliers and sub-contractors.
A good understanding of on-site processes, building code and construction methodologies is an advantage.
We are looking for key attributes: Confidence with numbers – should possess strong cost estimation skills.
This includes the ability to analyse plans to accurately estimate the costs associated with materials, labour, and other expenses involved in constructing residential houses.
Attention to detail - crucial in residential construction.
The Estimator needs to meticulously review plans, specifications, and other documents to ensure accuracy in cost estimates and project budgets.
Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments to ensure projects are completed within budget.
Communication – you can relate to others and aren't afraid to ask questions.
Collaborate with construction supervisors, draftees, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
Provide advice on cost-effective measures and value-for-money solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Self-motivated – we are a small team of 20 something people and so you must be accountable, motivated and take responsibility for your work, meeting timeframes, professional expectations and targets.
Organised & Honest – attention to detail will help you succeed in this role, as will a good strong work ethic and integrity.
