U8, 960 students, full-time, EOTC teacher, term 1 2025 start.
We are about to embark on an amazing journey for our kids – the development of our very own Manurewa Intermediate School Rural Campus – MI Papakainga, near Bombay: a purpose built, fully functional boarding facility, with staff housing, commercial kitchen, and associated facilities and offices set in 6 acres of beautiful private, park-like grounds with a meandering river for minor water activities.
We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and proactive EOTC practitioner to assist as our Deputy Director, alongside our Director, whose portfolio will be focused on education for sustainability, whereas this role is around the outdoor education activities we could provide. Free accommodation included!
You will be a trained teacher who has a passion for EOTC (or even better a teacher with a background in outdoor education and adventure) to take the lead in designing and running EOTC activities that encourage teamwork, resilience, and the courage to embrace new challenges. You will take a proactive lead in working with students to step out of their comfort zone, creating lasting childhood memories for them.
You will enjoy and appreciate the need to work closely and collaboratively with a wide range of staff and have a real conviction/belief in our kids, getting positively involved in all that is going on and not tied to an 8am-3pm belief of working!
Everyone in our school values energy and passion! People who are active participants moving to the vibe of our school, possessing a sense of humour they deliberately use to assist effective practice, enabled by high integrity to do the job well! You will be hardworking, honest, conscientious, flexible, sensible, able to work unsupervised, and a self-starter with a massive dose of common sense and initiative. You will believe in students having agency, with them taking ownership of 'their' world.
How to apply If this sounds like you, send your CV, an entertaining cover letter highlighting your strengths and interest in EOTC, and two referees.
