Manatu Kaupapa Waonga, the Ministry of Defence, is seeking an Enterprise Architect to join the Ministry's Information Domain for the delivery of a portfolio of projects. This role is for a fixed term of 2 years.

Mo te tunga I About the role This role sits within the Information Domain and will be working to support projects across this domain. The role will be responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise architecture solutions for each project and ensuring that a cohesive approach is applied.
The role will entail working in close collaboration with the project leads to understand system requirements, identify solution options, solution designs and develop implementation plans that allow for a cohesive domain wide approach. The role will need to contribute to architecture deliverables across the conceptual, logical and physical/virtual domains. This may include applications, hosting, networks, operational and support, user management and design of non-functional elements. Designs will be need to be managed using an appropriate design tool.
In this role you'll work in close collaboration with the NZDF Defence Digital Group (DDG) to align with technical strategies, preferences and standards. You would be providing guidance on potential selection and integration of technology solutions to a number of projects in the Information Domain. This level of oversight is important for ensuring networks and systems are designed to meet with future state security requirements and other associated accreditation standards.

Proven experience working as an Architect on complex technical, communications and information technology projects.Knowledge of commonly used architecture methods or frameworks, practices and procedures used for defining and estimating solution architecture activities.Understanding of technology use and trends including recognised skills in data management and data manipulation experience including with data analysis packages.A pragmatic approach to solution architecture development.Attending to detail, proven ability to implement initiatives that focus on optimising delivery of business needs, both functional and non-functional.Demonstrated success in building and maintaining internal and external relationships.Demonstrated success introducing new capabilities by understanding user needs and the potential of available technologies.Demonstrated experience at communicating effectively, using ideas and facts to influence and realise benefits.We ask all our people to undertake a commitment to doing their part to deliver on the Crown's commitments to Maori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
