Where you'll be working: Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre, Waikato Hospital The details: Casual shifts We are seeking a strong and resilient Enrolled Nurse to join one of our Puawai inpatient teams for casual shifts who can support our taangata whaiora and their whaanau during their time in Puna Awhi Rua.
Maaori are significantly represented across our services, which is why we are moving towards becoming a 'culturally led, clinically underpinned' team Delivering excellent care in a culturally responsive manner, to support the best outcomes for Maaori is fundamental to our mahi.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Puna Awhi Rua is a medium secure forensic ward providing sub-acute to longer term rehabilitation care.
The goals of this unit are to provide rehabilitation, habilitation, long term leave management processes and manage acute episodes.
This ward supports some of our most vulnerable taangata whaiora, who can often present with significant risk and complex presentations.
The team is a multi-disciplinary team and consists of nurses, mental health assistants, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and activities facilitators.
Key responsibilities of the role: * Assess, maintain and manage clinical risk under the supervision of a Registered Nurse * Build relationships with tangata whaiora family/whanau and support agencies.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for tangata whaiora * Commit to the MDT approach with a focus on excellent service delivery Click here to view the position description.

We believe in delivering services with a strong recovery focus and a sensitivity to cultural aspects of mental health through applying the Treaty of Waitangi principles into practice Mou | About you To be considered for this position, you must: * be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing Council of NZ and have a current annual practising certificate * have a passion for making a difference to the lives of our tangata whaiora and whanau * possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills * be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment * have a strong recovery focus and a sensitivity to cultural aspects of mental health with the ability to apply the Treaty of Waitangi principles into practice.
