We are seeking a full-time, permanent English teacher to start with us at Tawa College in 2025.
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic English teacher to join our collaborative department. The ideal candidate will encourage positive and respectful relationships and contribute to creative curriculum design through UDL and SOLO frameworks.
The ideal candidate will also have the ability to teach English up to NCEA Level 3, with plenty of opportunities to develop curriculum knowledge and practice as we welcome innovation and ideas.
The ideal candidate will:
Actively participate as partners in growing our understanding of how to enact Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Be an enthusiastic and innovative educator
Be prepared to teach English at all levels (Y9–13) and support the wider curriculum in the department
Be committed to student success and willing to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
Be a team player, ready to collaborate with colleagues
Be proactive in contributing to the development and implementation of our school's vision
Bring fresh ideas and a willingness to learn
A willingness to teach ESOL may be an advantage but is not required.
