The team provides high-quality services and infrastructure to residents and visitors, managing the district's parks, trails, libraries, and recreational facilities, while enabling sustainable development.For more information on Queenstown Lakes District Council visit: https://www.qldc.govt.nz/The RoleLocated in Queenstown and reporting into the Infrastructure Delivery and Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for managing the team to provide technical engineering expertise and quality assurance for QLDC's Property and Infrastructure project delivery portfolio. This includes Transport, Three Waters, Solid Waste, and Property, as well as providing engineering advice across the Property and Infrastructure Department.This involves resource management for the provision of multi-discipline engineering technical advice and approvals, peer reviewing feasibility options and concept designs, and providing technical quality assurance for the delivery of infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for technical input into project delivery contract specifications and scope, and technical oversight for project design and construction.Your Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate experience in management or in a senior engineering role, accompanied by broad civil engineering experience across infrastructure and public works projects. You will have relevant sector experience in infrastructure engineering design review and delivery and be able to demonstrate strong technical competency and confidence in decision making. You will have a relevant engineering qualification and practical experience in risk identification and mitigation, and in infrastructure planning, design, overview, and management.You will have a knowledge of and focus on best practice H&S standards in the construction industry. You will have well-developed negotiation and commercial skills, with the ability to develop positive relationships and be customer-focused.
