Experienced Fitter/Welder & Fabricator Needed – Join Tradestaff in Christchurch!

Are you a skilled fitter/welder with a passion for fabrication? Tradestaff is seeking an experienced professional to join our team in Christchurch for an exciting new role!

Responsibilities:
Fitting & Fabrication : Read and interpret technical drawings to fit, weld, and fabricate metal components
Welding : Execute MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques with precision
Material Prep : Measure, cut, and shape metal components according to specifications
Quality Control : Inspect finished products to ensure they meet high-quality standards
Equipment Maintenance : Maintain and troubleshoot welding and fabrication equipment
Safety Adherence : Follow strict health and safety regulations in the workshop and on installations
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records including weld logs, material usage, and quality inspections
Requirements:
Experience : Minimum 3 years as a fitter/welder with strong fabrication skills and proficiency in reading technical drawings, qualification preferred
References : Two New Zealand-based references, one relevant to fitting anda general all round experience reference
Transport : Restricted license and own mode of transport required
Welding Knowledge : Comprehensive understanding of NZ welding codes and standards
Safety Compliance : Adherence to health and safety regulations in the workshop environment
Teamwork : Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate with supervisors
