Job Description


No more FIFO! Live and work in the stunning region of Otago NZ. Situated a 1 hour drive from Dunedin and 2.5 hours from Queenstown & Wanaka. Join our Macraes Underground team, providing a professional mining engineering service to ensure we meet production targets.Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Deliver quality drill and blast designs to operations in support of the mining plan
Schedule short term production activities
Continuous improvement through regular stoping reviews and reconciliations
Inspection of CMS data and document blast performance in accordance with OGL standards
Perform regular underground stope inspections
Sufficient design stocks to be maintained to ensure minimal disruption and delays to the production cycle
Ensuring all opportunities for continuous improvement in drill and blast are documented and executed with appropriate project management
Create detailed stope designs based on conceptual designs, development as-builts and current geological block models, that maximise extraction of the available resource





Qualifications



A recognised degree in Engineering (Mining)
Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is essential
A minimum of 12 months experience in underground mining
Proficiency in at least one general purpose mining package and in drill and blast specific software (Deswik CAD and Aegis preferred)
