Haere mai ki te tono mo tetahi tuunga i te Kaunihera o te Taone o Otautahi.Are you passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability?We are on the hunt for a proactive and enthusiastic Energy Efficiency Graduate to join our team for a two-year, fixed-term role.This position, partly funded by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change across Council facilities and contribute to significant energy savings.About the role | Ko te mahi neiDevelop and support initiatives to reduce energy consumption, focusing on lighting, space and heating.Manage the Fault Detection Diagnostics (FDD) facility—tracking faults, issuing work orders, and ensuring resolution.Identify energy-saving opportunities through Building Management Systems (BMS), energy consumption data, and site visits, calculate potential savings, and build business cases for investment.Review and refine control methodologies and system settings to enhance occupant comfort, optimize energy efficiency, and reduce consumption.Assist the BMS team with system performance monitoring after project handovers, reporting on defects or necessary system tuning.Help manage system performance data and support the team with asset management tasks, ensuring accurate as-built documentation.Ensure timely submission of progress reports to EECA, meeting all deadlines for project milestones.Work closely with the wider team to improve energy efficiency across the Council and contribute to the team's overall performance.About you | Ko Koe TeneiA recent graduate with a degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles, with an interest in electrical systems, heating and/or lighting.Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret energy data and identify optimization opportunities.Strong teamwork and communication skills, comfortable collaborating across departments.Detail-oriented, with good organizational skills and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.What's in it for you? Central Christchurch.Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $71,529 - $79,477 per annum based on a 40 hour week.
