Are you passionate about making a difference in the Community?  If so, we would love to hear from you.  We currently have a full-time fixed term (40 hour per week) vacancy for an Employment Support Kaiarahi, to engage and support Rangatahi and Adults aged between 18 – 35 years, living in the Auckland Region and enrolled in the Thrive programme.  The purpose of the Thrive programme is to support Maori to Thrive in the workplace by improving well-being through achieving sustainable employment and receiving post placement support.  The successful applicant will empower whanau with the knowledge, skills, tools and confidence, or connection to become active participants in achieving their wellbeing and employment goals along with supporting rangatahi and youth in whanau educational development.  The ideal candidate for this role will understand current models of Whanau Ora in New Zealand.  You will be responsible for conducting assessments, coordinating resources, advocating for whanau, and tracking and reporting on key outcomes.  Manurewa Marae is a kaupapa Maori provider in health, social services, and education.  We deliver whanau centred services in Manurewa.  Our vision is to improve the health and wellbeing of all who reside in South Auckland.  To be considered for this role you will have: The ability to identify key supports for whanau and have networks within the community that you can draw onExcellent communication, facilitation and collaboration skills, where whanau voice is heard and respectedExperience and a high level of practice to manage complex whanau in the communityExperience and/or willingness to work in a kaupapa Maori based environment, where tikanga Maori and Te Reo is celebratedIt is mandatory for you to have the following: You must hold a relevant qualification in either Whanau ora, Social Work and/or certificate or diploma in Mental Health or Social ServicesBe legally entitled to work in New Zealand/Aotearoa (Citizenship, Work Visa or NZ Residency)At least 18-months relevant and demonstrated New Zealand work experience as a Social Worker or Support WorkerA full NZ driver's licencePreferred applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment checksWhat we offer The mahi that you do will affect positive change within our community and we offer you the opportunity to work alongside a supportive and passionate team at Manurewa Marae.  We also offer a competitive salary, a flexible working environment and a genuine commitment to supporting your professional development.   If you are interested to be part of a great team at Manurewa Marae and have the required skills, experience and networks to do the role, please apply via SEEK by submitting your CV and Cover Letter. Please note, all applications must be submitted via SEEK only.  If you would like a copy of the job description, please contact (email protected) Applications close - 5pm, 1st November 2024
