We're looking for an employment consultant to join our close-knit team, with a particular focus on increasing access and outcomes for Maori.
We love to create work connections to help people live great lives.Workwise employment consultants/kairapu turangamahi work with people/tangata whai ora who are facing personal or health challenges, to find and keep work.
You'll work closely with people accessing community mental health and addiction teams, employers, social services, government agencies and training providers.
You'll be working with people and their whanau, who have a range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences.This is a permanent role working Monday - Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm (flexi-time), 40 hours per week, based in Wellington.We're looking for someone who can easily engage and support people to connect with employers, whanau, health and welfare providers, and Maori communities.
Cultural competence is essential in this role, and we particularly encourage Maori to apply.
Lived experience is also valued.You'll have:A strong awareness and/or knowledge of tikanga Maori and te reo MaoriAbility to build relationships and achieve results for people and communitiesLove being a part of a team but can confidently work independentlyAbility to think quickly and problem-solve effectivelyHold a full NZ driver licenceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in the social service, addiction, youth, mental health, disability, employment, career development or other sectors that focus on improving people's lives.It is preferred that applicants hold the New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or a recognised equivalent.
Alternatively, you can commence free study towards this within six months of starting your employment.
